feedback guidelines for revision

Your honest thoughts help us create something that truly aligns with your vision. To make the revision process smooth and effective, please keep these tips in mind when sharing your feedback:

1. Be Specific

The more details, the better! Instead of saying "I don't like this," let us know what’s not working and why. For example:

❌ Instead of: “I don’t like this section.”
✅ Try: “This paragraph feels too formal. I’d love it to sound warmer and more conversational.”

“Clarity is the shortcut to alignment.” – Brené Brown

2. Review Within the Timeframe

Our feedback window is short so we can keep your project moving forward. Be sure to set aside focused time to review and respond within the scheduled day.

“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.” – Jim Rohn

3. Prioritize What Matters Most

If you have multiple pieces of feedback, let us know which changes are essential and which ones are “nice to have.”

❌ Instead of: "Can we just change everything to look more modern?”
✅ Try: “Updating the font size is my top priority. If the timeframe allows, we can also update link styles on hover.

“You can do anything, but not everything all at once.” – David Allen

With clarity, care, and steady steps, we turn ideas into progress—one thoughtful choice at a time.

4. Refer to Your Goals

Ground your feedback in your brand’s vision, target audience, or original brief. This helps ensure the changes are aligned with your desired outcome.

❌ Instead of:“This doesn’t feel right.”
✅ Try: “This feels a little too playful. Since we’re targeting high-end clients, I’d love something more minimalist and refined.”

“Strategy without process is little more than a wish list.” – Robert Filek

5. Ask Questions if Needed

Not sure why something was done a certain way? Feel free to ask! We’re happy to explain our design or writing choices.

❌ Instead of: “Why did you choose this color?”
✅ Try: “Can you walk me through the reason behind the color choice? Just want to understand how it ties into our goals.”

“The ability to ask the right question is more than half the battle of finding the answer.” – Thomas J. Watson

A thoughtful question and a clear path forward are where meaningful strategy begins.

6. Share Inspiration Thoughtfully

If there’s something you love, show us! You can share links, Pinterest boards, or even parts of other websites or IG pages that inspire you. Just let us know why you love it—whether it’s the tone, layout, color, or vibe—so we can understand your vision better.

❌ Instead of: “I like this website.”
✅ Try: “Here’s a site I love: [insert link]. The layout feels really clean, and I like how the photos take center stage. I’d love something similar for the homepage hero section.”

“Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.” – Pablo Picasso

7. Stay Kind & Constructive

You can be honest and kind. We’re on the same team! Clear, thoughtful feedback leads to better results (and a great working relationship).

❌ Instead of: “This is not what I wanted at all.”
✅ Try: “This section doesn’t quite match what we discussed, but I appreciate the effort—can we shift the tone to something more lighthearted and modern?”

“People will forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou

8. When You’re Not Sure How to Say It...

That’s okay—feedback doesn’t have to be perfect to be helpful. If you’re struggling to find the right words, here are a few ways to still communicate what you’re feeling:

✅ You can:
👉 Use emojis or tone words (e.g., “This feels too 💼 / I’d love it to feel more 🌊”).
👉 Share visuals that capture the feeling you’re aiming for (Pinterest board, IG post, etc.).
👉 Ask for a Zoom call so we can discuss more about your vision with more clarity.  Book your session here.

“You don't need the perfect words. Just a starting point—we'll shape the rest together.” – Brand Story Lounge

You don’t need perfect words—just focus on how it feels along the way & let your heart do the speaking.

9. Trust the Process, Then Speak Your Mind

Some things may feel unfamiliar at first—and that’s okay. Give yourself a moment to sit with the work before deciding what needs to be changed. But once you've had time and still feel something is off, don’t hesitate to share your honest thoughts.

10. Remember: It’s a Collaboration

You don’t need to “approve or reject” everything on your own—we’re a team. If something feels almost there, say so. We’re happy to explore it with you and bring your ideas to life together.

❌ Instead of: “I don’t know what I want, but this isn’t it.”
✅ Try: “This is close—I like the direction, but maybe we can tweak the headline to sound more confident?”
